National Student Employment Week award winners
The week of April 11-15 is National Student Employment Week and every year the National Student Employment Association encourages universities around the country to celebrate and acknowledge student employees for their hard work. Tulane student employees and their supervisors are a vital part of daily operations and the university’s continued success. A highlight of each year’s celebration is the Student Employee and Student Supervisor of the Year Awards. This year, there were separate awards for an undergraduate and a graduate student. Nominees in the three categories represented over 20 campus departments. Each nominee exemplifies Tulane’s values and goes above and beyond their everyday role to improve university life.
The 2022 Undergraduate Student Employee of the Year is Elizabeth Romantz. Elizabeth (Ellie) is pursuing a BS in cell and molecular biology and has worked in Campus Health since August 2020. The 2022 Graduate Student Employee of the Year is Alyssa Hiarker. Alyssa is a Master of Public Health in epidemiology student and graduate assistant at the SPHTM. The 2022 Student Supervisor of the Year is Mary Hicks. Mary is a senior program coordinator in the office of the Freeman Study Abroad and Exchange at the A. B. Freeman School of Business.
