Kathryn Clinard examines a box of photographs in the reading room at the Amistad Research Center in Tilton Hall. A producer with Steeplechase Films, Clinard is working on a Ric Burns documentary film titled, “Driving While Black: African Americans on the Road in the Era of Jim Crow.” Research for the project is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
