Trees provide a temporary retreat from the heat during a walk across campus.

Visitors to the uptown campus walk past Chinese pistachio trees in front of the Boggs Center for Energy and Biotechnology. The ornamental tree, which does not produce pistachio nuts, is popular for its fall color and its wide canopy that creates shade.
