Civil engineering students practice land surveying on the campus green on the Tulane University uptown campus around the turn of the century. The water tower on the right of the image was part of the engineering complex at the time, making the open field in the background the eventual location of the Boggs Center for Energy and Biotechnology and Percival Stern Hall.
