The celebration of the Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be held in the Jill H. and Avram A. Glazer Family Club in Yulman Stadium on Friday, September 29. Tulane economist Gary Hoover, executive director at the Murphy Institute, discussed the differences in unemployment in different parts of the labor force amid a rising unemployment rate. He noted that even in the widely touted strong labor market of the past couple years, the unemployment rate for Black workers has remained stubbornly high, about double that of white workers.
