The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, within the National Institutes of Health, has awarded Tulane a contract for up to $9.2 million to collaborate with Biotech company Q-Vant Biosciences Inc. to create a vaccine that can be delivered via a pill or dissolved beneath the tongue. Elizabeth Norton, associate professor of microbiology and immunology at Tulane School of Medicine, will lead the project.
