The third annual New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane University has unveiled its full 2024 schedule, which features more than 150 acclaimed authors and thought leaders, 90+ panels, book signings, a culinary symposium, Family Day festivities and a closing musical celebration. The festival, which is free and open to the public, will take place March 14-16 on Tulane’s uptown campus.

The Dew Drop Inn of New Orleans, which reopens today, will feature displays of archival materials from the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music and New Orleans Jazz. The inn included one of the foremost Black-owned entertainment venues from 1939 to 1970, becoming renowned for performances by legendary musicians. Read more on the Libraries website.

The Murphy Institute’s Center for Ethics will welcome Beatriz Magaloni, Stanford University professor and senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, as the speaker for the center's next lecture. The lecture will take place Friday, March 8, at 4 p.m. in room 100 of the Steven and Jann Paul Hall for Science and Engineering. Magaloni’s lecture is titled “Challenges in Creating More Humane and Equitable Policing: A Focus of the Global South.” The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Tulane Department of Political Science and The Center for Inter-American Policy and Research. The Phyllis M. Taylor Center for Social Innovation and Design Thinking will celebrate its 10-year anniversary Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8. Taylor 10 Week will feature sessions each day that highlight the center’s work to equip students, faculty, staff and community partners with design thinking and social innovation tools.
