Former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, a Tulane alumnus, has donated his congressional papers to the university’s Louisiana Research Collection. The collection includes campaign files, legislative work, news coverage, videos, audio tapes and correspondence from major political and governmental figures during Gingrich’s 20 years in Congress.

Tulane School of Professional Advancement (SoPA) graduate Tahj Williams, queen of a New Orleans Black Masking Indian tribe, designed the logo for Super Bowl LIX, which will be hosted in the city in 2025. The design pays homage to the elaborate suits worn by masking Indians. Read more on the SoPA website.

The Tulane community gathered last week for a ceremonial lighting to celebrate the continued plans for Tulane’s historic transformation of the downtown campus. This year’s annual Women Making Waves leadership conference, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary, will take place Thursday, March 7, and Friday, March 8, on the uptown campus. The conference highlights the accomplishments of Tulane alumnae with the goal of inspiring others. This year’s keynote speaker is Sandra Diggs-Miller, vice president of external affairs at Entergy. The conference will feature a welcome reception, which will take place at Bea Field Alumni House, along with a keynote address, several breakout sessions and a networking luncheon, which will take place at the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life. The third annual New Orleans Book Festival at Tulane released its schedule for this year’s event with times and venues mapped out similar to Jazz Fest-like “cubes.” The festival, which takes place March 14-16, features more than 90 panels with over 150 local, regional and national authors.
