Tulane researchers have developed a CRISPR-based platform for diagnosing nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), which can infect the lungs and cause symptoms similar to tuberculosis. The new platform shortens the time it takes to get results from months to as little as two hours.

The Stuart and Suzanne Grant Center for the American Jewish Experience will host the Rottman Lecture, titled “Ballots, Babies and Banners of Peace: American Jewish Women’s Activism With Melissa Klapper,” on Tuesday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Rogers Memorial Chapel on the uptown campus. Tulane University Campus Programming (TUCP) Comedy will host Marcello Hernandez, stand-up comedian, writer and cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” on Wednesday, March 20, at 8 p.m. at McAlister Auditorium. The event is open to the public.
