Anthropologists John Linden, Tulane alumnus, and Victoria Bricker, professor emerita at the School of Liberal Arts, have deciphered the secrets of the 819-day calendar used by ancient Maya. According to their study, the cycles in the Maya calendar cover a much larger time frame than scholars previously thought.

The Department of Economics at the School of Liberal Arts will host a seminar featuring David Card, co-recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, on Friday, May 5, from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. in Myra Clare Rogers Memorial Chapel. Card was also awarded The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences for his empirical contributions to labor economics in 2021.
