After nearly seven impactful years of leading the School of Social Work, Dean Patrick Bordnick will step down on June 30, 2024. Bordnick will complete a sabbatical year before returning as a professor in the School of Social Work in July 2025, and will continue his research exploring novel medicines, technology and interventions. Jorge Argueta, award-winning Salvadoran poet and author of many highly acclaimed bilingual children’s books and short stories, will give a bilingual reading and discussion on his La Madre Tierra/Talking with Mother Nature series. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 12, at 12:30 p.m. at the East Bank Regional Library, located at 4747 West Napoleon Ave. in Metairie. The event is co-sponsored by the Stone Center for Latin American Studies at Tulane University in collaboration with the annual K-12 Educator Institute.
