President Michael A. Fitts (center) cut the ribbon at the new Tulane University Police Department (TUPD) station, located at the corner of Broadway and Zimple street, on Wednesday afternoon. Alongside Fitts was (from left) Councilmember Joe Giarrusso, State Senator Cameron Henry Jr., Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Erica Woodley, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Patrick Norton and Tulane University Chief of Police Kirk Bouyelas. The new station, which is the fifth police station across Tulane University’s campuses, enhances safety for the uptown campus and nearby residents. It will be fully staffed by Tulane police officers who will be available onsite 24/7 to serve both the Tulane community and neighbors.

Trash to Treasure’s annual Move-In Sale will take place Aug. 14-15 and Aug. 17-19 in the McWilliams Hall Lab Theater, Room 104, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale is an annual student-led waste reduction initiative that features gently used residence hall items that were previously donated in the spring semester and sold back to the university community at reduced prices during fall Move-In.
