The Newcomb Art Department will welcome artist Hugh Hayden for the fall 2023 Sandra Garrard Memorial Lecture, an annual program focused on the most critical issues in contemporary art. Hayden will discuss his artistic practice and commissioned work that is currently on view in the “Emancipation” exhibition on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. at the Newcomb Art Museum. Music at Midday will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at noon in Rogers Memorial Chapel on the uptown campus. This week’s featured artist is MIATp: Megan Ihnen, mezzo-soprano singer, and Alan Theisen, saxophone player.
