The Latin American Library will host a special event to mark the opening of the Chamorro Barrios Family Papers (1767-1997). The papers document one of Latin America’s most influential families at the forefront of Nicaragua’s political and national life since the 18th century and contain information on the modern history of Nicaragua. The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 5-7 p.m. in the Latin American Library Gallery, located on the fourth floor of the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. Carlos Fernando Chamorro Barrios, award-winning journalist from Nicaragua and one of the most influential investigative journalists in Latin America, will provide remarks.
