President Mike Fitts conducted the annual Homecoming Town Hall on Nov. 1. In a conversation with Satyajit Dattagupta, the Vice President of Enrollment Management in the Office of Undergraduate Admission, he discussed the progress Tulane is making in enhancing the undergraduate student experience.

Parisite Skate Park, located at 1606 Pleasure St. in New Orleans, was awarded the silver medal for the Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence. The park is a collaboration of Tulane School of Architecture’s Albert and Tina Small Center for Collaborative Design and Traditional Spaces, a non-profit organization representing local skaters, and the city of New Orleans.

A part of Tulane’s Environmental Studies Program speaker series called “Actual Water and American Air,” Rhiana Gunn-Wright will speak about the Green New Deal at the university’s Stone Auditorium on Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Gunn-Wright is one of the leaders of the Green New Deal. Her talk will be in conversation format with Jennifer Parker, editor for The New York Times Opinion section. For more information, click here.

Tulane’s School of Professional Advancement invites faculty, staff, students and the public to PechaKucha Night: The Best Idea that Never Ran on Nov. 4 in Freeman Auditorium at 6 p.m. A PechaKucha is a talk in which each participant has 20 slides and must present for 20 seconds per slide. For the theme, “The Best Idea that Never Ran,” speakers must discuss an idea that never made it to market. Presenters include representatives from Peter Mayer Advertising, Bond Moroch Public Relations, Lionheart Prints and FatHappy Media.
