Air and water
Located directly behind the entrance to Audubon Park (and directly across St. Charles Avenue from Gibson Hall) the Gumbel Memorial Fountain is nestled in summer bloom. The fountain was installed in 1918 and features bronze sculptures by Vienna-born sculptor Isidore Konti. The artist reportedly created the nude with billowing fabric to symbolize the meeting of air and water.
