The Insider: More than a mortarboard

Dear graduates,

When you march out from behind the curtain during the 2016 Unified Commencement Ceremony in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, you may unknowingly become part of a “Where’s Waldo?” game in which your family searches for you among your very-similarly dressed peers.

Each year, more graduates opt to embellish their mortarboards with a design or image that makes them easier to spot by their families seated in the stands behind them. If you are one of those graduates, we want to see your design!

Send your submissions by Tuesday, May 10.

Please send an email with a photo of your completed mortarboard, a brief description of your art, your name and major no later than Tuesday, May 10, at noon. Your submission may be featured in New Wave.
