‘Stone Soup’ for the soul
There is still time to catch one of two final performances of the musical “Stone Soup” presented by The Story Road Project on Saturday (April 23) at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Dixon Hall.
The Story Road Project is the student-touring group of Summer Lyric Theater at Tulane.
Michael Mckelvey, artistic director of Summer Lyric Theater, says the message of the show is relatable to people of all ages. He says, “it’s about sharing, overcoming fear of outsiders, the importance of community, and most importantly, how not to build a wall.”
Performances are Saturday (April 23) at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Dixon Hall.
During the past month, the troupe has performed the show for young audiences in New Orleans schools.
While admission is free to both performances, the group asks that attendees donate a canned food item to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.
