Young love doesn’t always end in tragedy
Cross-dressing, music, outlaws, broken hearts and a scene-stealing dog make “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” one of Shakespeare’s most delightful comedies. The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival at Tulane University will present a contemporary version of the production on June 18 - July 2 under the direction of Jessica Podewell.
The cast features Levi Hood and Kyle Woods as the title characters. Devyn Tyler, whose credits include roles in “Twelve Years a Slave” and the WGN series Underground, stars as Julia.
Evening performances in the Lupin Theater are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on June 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, July 1, and July 2. Matinees will begin at 1:30 p.m. on June 19, 26, and July 2.
General admission tickets are $30. Discounts are available for students, seniors, and Tulane employees. The show runs approximately two hours and includes one 15-minute intermission.
