Copes Chair and professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, received the Lilienfeld Award for his significant contributions in the areas of clinical, translational, and epidemiological research of cardiovascular and kidney diseases. The award is the most prestigious award bestowed by the American College of Epidemiology.

The Tulane community is invited to participate in Take Back the Night to stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual violence from 6-9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The ceremony will start at the Marquette Horseshoe Parking Lot (on St. Charles Avenue) on Loyola University’s campus. Following the ceremony, a march will proceed toward Freret Street. The event will conclude with a “speak out” in the Diboll Gallery of The Commons on the Tulane uptown campus. The Tulane Center for Sport will host a virtual conversation, “Women in Sports Webinar Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX,” on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 6-7:15 p.m. via Zoom.
