William Brumfield, professor of Slavic Studies and Sizeler Professor of Jewish Studies at Tulane, was recently presented with the Order of Friendship medal for his nearly 50 years of work and dedication documenting Russia’s history, architecture and literature. The Order of Friendship is the highest state decoration of the Russian Federation given to foreign nationals.
