Comedian Ken Jeong will address the Class of 2022 at Tulane’s Commencement 2022 on May 21 at 9 a.m. in Yulman Stadium. Jeong is known by fans from his roles in blockbuster movies such as “The Hangover” franchise and “Crazy Rich Asians,” the critically acclaimed TV show “Community” and from his Netflix standup special “You Complete Me, Ho.” Jeong honed his comedic skills in New Orleans’ comedy clubs while doing research at Tulane’s School of Medicine in the 1990s.

The School of Liberal Arts’ Digital Media Practices Program along with Searchlight Pictures, will host a screening of “Summer of Soul,” on Wednesday, March 16, in Stone Auditorium in the Woldenberg Art Center from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. “Summer of Soul” is a documentary about the Harlem Cultural Festival and is directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, band member of The Roots and musical director of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” The documentary features several iconic performers such as Stevie Wonder, Mavis Staples, Gladys Knight and the Pips and more. Following the screening, Melissa Weber, curator of the Hogan Archive of New Orleans Music at Tulane University Special Collections, will interview Robert Fyvolent, producer and Tulane alumnus.
