The School of Medicine has named Dr. Tina Simpson as its first Chief Clinical Diversity Officer. Simpson, who joins Tulane on Oct. 1, will lead initiatives that increase physician workforce diversity, build safe and inclusive learning environments and advance equity by addressing disparities in health care that affect outcomes for patients from marginalized communities.

Molecular Virology & Microbiology at Baylor College of Medicine, at 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 12 in the Diboll Auditorium (located on the ground floor of the Tidewater Building). Hotez, who is co-director of the Texas Children’s Center for Vaccine Development and Texas Children’s Hospital, leads teams in the development of new vaccines for hookworm infection, schistosomiasis, leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, and SARS/MERS/SARS-2 coronavirus.
