The President’s Convocation for New Students is a ceremonial welcome for the first-year class and marks the beginning of their time at Tulane. This year’s convocation was held on Thursday, Aug. 18, in the Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse. President Fitts used the umbrella, and the brave act that made its use popular, as a metaphor in his address to the class saying, “Umbrellas — and minds — work best when they are open.”

Tulane’s Trash to Treasure sale is an annual student-led waste reduction initiative that allows student volunteers to collect unwanted residence hall items in the spring and sell them back to the university community at reduced prices during move-in in the fall. Read More

Students, with or without Work Study Awards, are invited to the Fall 2022 Student Part-Time Job Fair on Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the second floor of the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life. Students are welcome to apply for several positions. Applications for on-campus positions must be submitted on Handshake via departments’ job posting instructions.
