The Department of French and Italian, in collaboration with the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute will host a symposium that will feature scholars who have studied Italian-American and Black experiences in New Orleans, as well as the U.S. at large. The symposium will be held today and Saturday, Sept. 24, in the Stibbs Room in the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins this Sunday, Sept. 25. Tulane Hillel will celebrate the year 5783 on Sept. 25 with dinner, followed by services; on Monday, Sept. 26, there will be services followed by lunch at Hillel, then Tashlich at Audubon Park.
